There were fifty six signers to the
Declaration of Independence!!!
These very courageous and dedicated men knew that their work
would result, literally, with their death warrants!!!
And .. all of those signers, and their families, suffered terribly. The British saw to it that they suffered much.
Benjamin Franklin quipped, "At least we'll hang together .. or, we'll hang alone."
One of the signers had his two young male children held captive aboard a dreaded British torture ship in the Boston harbor. The British commanders spread the word that they had the young men and if their father would publicly denounce the Declaration .. they would set his boys free.
Imagine that mans' anquish and heartache when he said that he could not deny that Declaration!!!
Their sacrifices were huge!!!
They paid heavy prices for all we are
able to enjoy!!!
And now .. two hundred and thirty some years later ..
in honor of those courageous and dedicated Americans ..
with hope and effort we will come together in
The 56 Club ..
to be inspired and guided by the Spirit
of those good men
and their significant sacrifices ..
to help preserve America's
longstanding values and principles ..
and to safeguard its' future!!!
They .. the 56 signers ..
are our Founders ..
their work is our Founding ..
our Inspiration and Mission!!!
